“When people have hearing loss, I think they often take that burden and pass it on to their friends and family, and we make them scream and yell at us so we can hear! But I think it’s better to take responsibility and wear hearing aids!.”
Norm Crosby, is an American comedian

The most common cause of hearing loss is old age and this is the group that suffers most along with their families because of lack of awareness.

ALL HEARING IMPAIRMENTS DO NOT NEED HEARING AIDS. Before deciding about buying a hearing aid for yourself or your loved one please visit an ENT specialist and get the person examined. Many kinds of hearing losses are fully treatable.

It is important to realise that a person is having hearing impairment and to help him overcome it.

Early signs of hearing loss include:

  • difficulty hearing other people clearly and misunderstanding what they say, especially in noisy places
  • asking people to repeat themselves
  • listening to music or watching TV with the volume higher than other people need
  • difficulty hearing on the phone
  • finding it hard to keep up with a conversation
  • feeling tired or stressed from having to concentrate while listening
  • Keeping to oneself or being disinterested in people around them
  • becoming forgetful and clumsy. LOSS OF HEARING HAS BEEN SHOWN TO HASTEN THE PROGRESSION OF DEMENTIA
